While many believe The Mother Road has disappeared, Route 66 still exists and is able to be traveled from it's last Eastern terminus in downtown Chicago, Illinois to its Western terminus at the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California. Route 66 gets its name, The Mother Road, from John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath. In Chapter 12, John Steinbeck refers to the 1930's alignment of this road as, "The mother of all roads..." The name stuck!

Interior Studios & Sound Stages
This unique part of the Epic Location Sets Collection contains 142 professionally photographed studio backlots; soundstages; and, interior studio images. The backlot images include rare scenes from the former backlot where Air America was filmed. The original sound stages and backlot, located in Ventura, California were purchased in the early years of the 21st Century by Brooks Institute of Photography.
